I have been going wine tasting in Temecula for the last 15 years and I have seen the area continue to renovate and grow as time passes. There are so many amazing wines that currently come out of Temecula, California and the food scene is pretty phenomenal as well!
When I started going out to Temecula there were a handful of wineries…I want to say there were may 15 or 20, but now with 40 plus wineries, gorgeous event spaces, great hotels, food, wine and more, Temecula has become a happening travel destination for locals from Cali as well as people from afar in other countries.
Every time I visit the city, as can be seen through several of my photos throughout this article, I end up going somewhere new, enjoying something decadent, and living life to the fullest. As Temecula continues to expand and encompass a variety of different people and cultures, their innovative wine events continue to become more elaborate!
This year Temecula celebrates 50 years since the first commercial vineyard was planted! Just one of the many celebrations this year commemorating these 50 years is the annual “Crush” event hosted by Monte Do Oro Winery!
On Saturday, September 29th, in honor of California Wine Month, the annual Crush Festival in Temecula will take place from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Monte De Oro Winery. The event will showcase over 30 member wineries in one place! There will be culinary creations available from over 15 wineries, local restaurants, and caterers in the valley! There will be an opportunity to chat with local winery owners and winemakers while dining under the stars on tasty bites and mouth-watering wines to wet your palate. Live entertainment will be provided by Kai Kalama, an American Idol star from San Juan Capistrano, California. This event sells out quickly, so get your tickets early! Cheers to 50 Years!
A sampling of the restaurants that will be joining CRUSH 2018 include: Baily’s Old Town, Ballast Point, Bluewater Grill, Cafe Champagne at Thornton Winery, Cork Fire Kitchen, Devilicious Eatery, E.A.T. Marketplace, Le Grange Grill, Macaroni Grill, Mama Rosa’s Trattoria at Robert Renzoni Vineyards, Meritage at Callaway, Monte De Oro Bistro, Naughty Pig Butchery, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery, Sangio’s Deli at Cougar Vineyard & Winery, and Terra Venti Specialty Foods
Early Access tickets for this event are $99 each and will give attendees the opportunity to arrive at the event at 7pm, a half hour early. General Admission tickets are $89 and the entry time is at 7:30pm.
Parking will be at the event on the Monte De Oro Winery property. For overflow parking there will be space available at Wiens Family Cellars parking lot. Shuttle service will be provided by Grapeline Wine Tours and will be available beginning at 6:30pm at Wiens winery parking lot. The last shuttle back to Wiens will be at 9:45pm.
I am so excited for this fabulous event as every time I visit Temecula Valley, I get excited all over again to try new wines, meet great people and get some rest and relaxation in an awesome travel destination. I hope to see you at the event! Stay tuned for more photos on social media from Crush Live. Please come say hello if you see me and have a great time!
